Die von ihrer Lebensweise faszinierte Anthropologin Elena Dak hat sie getroffen. In einer der Tankstellen, die entlang dieser viel befahrenen Autobahn in Gujarat gebaut wurden, ist gerade Teezeit, als eine Bewegung in der Ferne alle Aufmerksamkeit auf sich lenkt: Auf dem Seitenstreifen schreitet eine Karawane aus einem Dutzend Frauen und ebenso vielen Kamelen heran.
