Seit mehr als zehn Jahren widmet er sich in seinen Arbeiten einem einzigen Thema: verlassenen Klavieren. In seiner Langzeitserie Requiem pour Pianos (Requiem f\u00fcr Klavier) erforscht er die fragile Grenze zwischen kulturellem Erbe und Vergessen.Romain Thiery hat weltweit mehr als hundert verwaiste Klaviere dokumentiert. Jedes Instrument wurde so abgelichtet, wie es vorgefunden wurde \u2013 ohne Inszenierung \u2013, um die Authentizit\u00e4t des Ortes und seiner Geschichte zu bewahren.
