W\u00e4hrend er die<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>imposanten Landschaften durchwandert, f\u00fcr deren Erhalt Muir k\u00e4mpfte, hinterfragt er den Platz des Menschen in der Natur und die Zerbrechlichkeit dieser wilden R\u00fcckzugsorte. Der amerikanische Westen verk\u00f6rpert die Wildnis in ihrer reinsten Form. Schon immer wollte ich ihn von S\u00fcden nach Norden, von Kalifornien bis Alaska, durchqueren. Eine 5000 Kilometer lange Reise auf den Spuren John Muirs, einem der V\u00e4ter der Naturschutzbewegung. Sein Buch \u00abMein erster Sommer in der Sierra\u00bb hat mich mein ganzes Leben lang begleitet.
